A longtail boat in front of the Krabi cliffs, at dawn

A corner of southern Thailand that changed the way we eat.

Krabi.

A street in Thailand at night, with the food stalls lit up

The name

A name that tastes of travel.

Krabi is a province in southern Thailand: cliffs over the sea, longtail boats and food stalls that light up as the sun goes down. That's where we learned that food tastes better shared. We gave this house its name so we'd never forget it.

The menu is a map.

Nine places, and the dish we brought back from each one.

A corridor of paper lanterns in warm light
A busy night market, food stalls lit up under colourful signs
Hands plating at the kitchen pass, in black and white

The family

This is a family thing.

My parents and I built Krabi together. I come from demanding kitchens, the kind where a plate doesn't go out until it's perfect, and from travelling as much as I could. Here I bring both together: the technique I learned and what I loved eating most along the way. Home is on the menu too: the lasagne is my mum's and the brownie is my grandma's.

The dining room

The walls have stories too.

Toasts from half the world and prints from every trip hang in the dining room. Take a look while the first plate arrives, and pick the one you will toast with tonight.

The rest gets told at the table.
